Placing History
University of the Third Age (U3A)
Each session focuses on certain events or a period in history using places in order to focus on the subject matter. Information is explored through illustrated talks. Must be a member to access these groups.

Seaton & District Arts Society
Seaton and District Art Society is a local very friendly art/painting society encompassing Seaton and surrounding towns and villages. Each month we meet at The Gateway for a demonstration by a professional artist with a break for tea and a chat. All Welcome. Must be a member to access these groups.

Friends In The Community
Friends in the Community, meets to provide companionship, social and leisure activities in a friendly relaxed environment. The group is formed to challenge isolation within the community, and aimed for people in their senior years finding themselves alone.

Zumba Class
Turn your Monday into a super fun day and join our Zumba happy hour!! With no booking required, this class is available for everyone to enjoy and experience a complete full-body workout in a friendly tmosphere. You will find this class to be high in energy with added motivation coming from a passion for dance, fitness and great music!

Gentle Moves

A Fun and gentle chair-based exercise class to music designed to improve co-ordination, flexibility and Health & Wellbeing. Suitable for men and women in a friendly and informal setting. Must be a member to access these groups.

M.O.T.O
University of the Third Age (U3A)
Members on their own meet, chat over tea and coffee and make arrangement for events and social gatherings. Must be a member to access these groups.

Philosophy
University Of The Third Age (U3a)
Taking subjects that have been examined throughout the history of philosophy, the group discuss this and try to discover more about how the ideas have been explored in the past. Must be a member to access these groups.

General Meeting
University Of The Third Age (U3a)
General meeting for all U3A members with a ‘speaker’ to entertain all followed by time to socialise over tea and coffee. Anyone interested can come along to join U3A and see the variety of groups on offer. Must be a member to access these groups.

Scrabble And Rummicub

A fun way to get together and socialise over a game. There is also a break for tea and coffee. Must be a member to access these groups.

Craft Group

The U3A Craft Group meet on the second Tuesday of each month for 2 hours from 10 till 12. We pursue a variety of craft activities both individually and in small groups to learn a new skill. Must be a member to access these groups.

Jazz Appreciation
University Of The Third Age (U3a)
Monthly meetings for jazz lovers and for those for whom jazz forms part of their nostalgia. Recorded jazz, films, podcasts and discussion. Meet every second Tuesday of the month at 2.15 in the Gateway. Must be a member to access these groups.

Al Anon
Meeting every Tuesday evening Al-Anon family group is a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems.

The Gateway Youth Theatre
May to October
A Performing Arts group for youth aged 11 to 18 years (Max 25 members). All aspects of stagecraft and production are covered for those that want to learn. runs from May to October on Tuesdays from 7pm to 9pm. An Annual Talent Showcase plus another project such as Variety Show, a Musical or a Play are staged.
Wednesday

Zumba Gold Class (Low Impact – Suitable For Beginners)
Wiggle on Wednesday and join this motivating, energising and effectively rewarding dance fitness class designed for everyone to enjoy at their own pace. This class offers a great opportunity to make friends and have fun while exercising ‘in disguise’ and keeping fit!

Art

Chess Club
Seaton Chess Club is a small and friendly group that meets in the Seaton Gateway on Wednesdays at 6.30pm from September to April. The club is always delighted to welcome new players, whether just for informal friendly games, or for more competitive play in the local leagues.

Acapella Chorus
A friendly group of like-minded people who just love to sing. Under the direction of Ellie Walker all genres of music are covered. Have fun whilst producing lovely A Capella harmonies! No auditions, just turn up! Every Wednesday 7pm to 9pm.

Fit Steps
FitSteps is an energetic, up beat dance fitness class featuring all of your favourite strictly dances. It is designed to give real, measurable fitness results. It is suitable for all ages and abilities and you don’t need a partner. You will have so much fun you won’t even realise you are getting fit!

Poetry & Reading Group
Established in 2009. We meet monthly to read (aloud) a wide range of poetry, both classical and modern, on a variety of themes. Sorry, no vacancies for new members at present.

Current Affairs

A discussion group meeting where the members take matters that are currently in the news and discuss their attitudes to those events. Must be a member to access these groups.

Members share what they have achieved in their photography and share ideas and skills. This group have been working together for a long time and so are not organised to teach new members. Must be a member to access these groups.
