An excellent opportunity has been created to join The Gateway Theatre following a hugely challenging time for the arts & entertainment sector. We are extremely excited to be re-opening our doors in September 2021, after a successful programme of internal works to update the theatre we are preparing to welcome audiences back with an exciting range of cinema, theatre and live music events.

We are looking to recruit a Theatre Manager, for 20 hours per week. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and develop our expanding community theatre in East Devon.

The successful candidate will be a proven leader, an energetic, adaptable, creative and business-minded strategic thinker with a passion for theatre, the arts and working with communities. You will possess excellent communication skills with demonstrable experience of managing staff, volunteers and public events.

As the only Theatre in Seaton and the surrounding areas, we aim to enhance our sustainability through the development of new theatre income streams and the expansion of our current programme.

You will utilise your outstanding leadership skills to motivate, inspire and manage our staff and volunteers. Using your proven business and financial skills you will steer the charity’s emergence out from our Covid19 pandemic closure, driving and maximising the potential of our theatre, our building and our programme of entertainment as well as leading on fundraising and community engagement.

This is a unique opportunity for a passionate, highly skilled and effective leader to take forward our theatre, working with our trustees, staff, and volunteers to build a beacon venue across Devon and beyond.
